Duels
"Give the man one gun, and he is Superman. Give him two, and he is God."

I am here to teach you about the Dual Berettas, or Dual Elites as they are called in Counter-Strike. Why you have chosen these guns, I cannot guess. Do not be mistaken. I will not tell you these are amazingly good guns. They are not.

First, let us look at other pistols.

Take a typical pistol, the Glock or USP.

The Glock (20 round clip) has a very high rate of fire, is extremely accurate, has burst fire, reloads fast, and is the cheapest gun in the game. However, the glock inflicts fairly low damage.

The USP (12 round clip), on the other hand, does not fire quite as quickly. It is arguably the most accurate pistol in the game, has a silencer, reloads quite fast, is the 2nd cheapest gun in the game, and has a very solid .45 round for high damage.

Then we look at what I consider the least balanced gun in the game. The:

Desert Eagle. If single shot, is dead accurate. This gun can do 45 damage in one shot through Kevlar. It also goes through walls/boxes/etc. Tied for glock with fastest pistol reload. It is the 4th cheapest gun by 50 bucks. 7 round clip.

But you hate that gun. You want the Dual Berettas. Fairly high cyclic rate, least accurate pistol, slowest reload in the game, most expensive secondary weapon purchase, and does the same damage as the Glock. It holds 30 rounds; all of which you'll need.

Now, tactics. You know how ducking makes you more accurate? Don't. You know how holding still makes you more accurate? Don't. Know how jumping can throw off your aim? Too bad. You are going to learn CIRCLE STRAFING. Now what circle strafing is, is you run towards your opponent, and then make a tight circle around him, jumping every second or so. Now, if they have an M4, you are probably already dead. My advice for any of the heavy damage guns is to aim high and pray to a deity for a headshot. What I generally do is circle, and aim at the base of their ribs. Now, because this gun has a huge recoil, your bullets will spray a large amount. Keep circling anyway. Hopefully, your opponent will run out of ammo before you do (as you have 30 rounds to use.)

My second piece of advice. LEARN TO USE HE GRENADES. I have been saved countless times by injuring my opponent with grenades BEFORE I try to Beretta them. Learn elementary physics and bounce them off walls.

My third piece of advice. BUY-A-PRIMARY-WEAPON. Even if you don't use it, you do NOT want to be firing and suddenly pick up a gun (which will be empty half the time). Autopickup is NOT your friend. My advice is buy something long range and accurate, like a Commando, or even an MP5.

Now, as you have what is arguably called the worst gun(s) in the game, you need the drop on people. If they fire first, you lose. Most of the time, that will be horribly true to you. So learn to camp a bit. Offensive camp. Move from one box to the other, hide around corners, whatever you feel comfortable with. DO NOT fire unless you know you can hit them, because the last thing you need to do is fire at a guy, miss, and get shot in the face through the wall by the M4 whore.

Now the hardest part, in my opinion. When to reload. Now this depends to a large extent on you. I reload entirely too much, and I am slowly learning to stop. Remember, YOU HAVE THE LONGEST RELOAD IN THE GAME. Yes, longer than the para. But remember, you also have low damage. I'd say less than 15 rounds and you should reload.

Now that you are ready to go out and get all John Woo and Chow Yun-Fat some unlucky punk, remember what I've said, and don't forget:
» Your guns do no damage
» Your guns are not accurate
» Your guns don't fire insanely fast
» If you have to reload, you're probably dead.

But you will be the most styling killer out there.

And to all those Desert Eagle fans out there: Well... way to choose the least balanced gun. When I Beretta you for the 3rd time in a row, you cry.

Glock

The end all. The finisher. The glock. This little pea shooter has evolved from "useless" to "god like" since the past beta's, and this beta certainly ranks up there with the wrath and destruction of a nuclear device. This little guide will show you a whole different world (hopefully)

The Facts

Why not use the USP for a pistol fight? Heres why, pros and cons for both weapons-

Glock

Pros: It holds 20 rounds
It has no recoil, meaning where you shoot it, lands with out the kick back effecting your aim
It has no rate of fire, meaning when you click, it shoots. You have a fast finger? you can shoot 20 rounds within seconds

Cons: its very weak.
3 round burst is useless

USP

Pros: Its more powerful, by a little margin, then glock
Its semi more accurate then glock

Cons: it only holds 13 rounds, with a reload time- this is horrible
Silencer is useless and weakens the gun.
It has recoil, meaning if you shoot a lot of rounds at once, the gun will aim upwards because of kickback
It has a ROF, meaning you can click fast, but it still has to take time for each shot.

Now, add the fact your trying to get head shots, the Glock is a much, much better choice. 20 rounds of pure, recoiless , rate of fireless, action. beefy stuff :D
Another Note: this guide is only for terrorists. CT's can lick our CSNATION ASSES!!! OK???eajtoeijklskl

The glock and YOU

so many uses for the glock. Well, only 3 really, but here are some neato notes about this weapon to consider and use-
1. NEVER USE BURST FIRE. It sends 3, unguided bullets spraying every where at once. It also has a ROF. If you miss once, the target your hitting gets the kill
2. If use the glock for many rounds you will get a *huge* sum of money. Since your really not spending any thing, cept maybe for armor, you dont lose money even if your team loses. If your team loses a lot though, you'll be in dept.
3. The glock has movement stopping power. if you can get the first shot, you'll probably win the fight since the target can't move. Sending 20 accurate bullets from a distance will make a mp5'er scream in dismay as his gun recoils like a ass.
4. the TMP and Mac-10 have the same strength, and are very similiar in a sense, but they have recoil and cost 1k to get.
5. Open areas are a must, if you can't circle strafe and \ or the enemy has too much cover your dead. You need the as vurnable as you are.
6.Kills really need to be on flat land, Snipers up on cliffs, ledges, and rafters are not very good targets. Nor are things below you, since you cant circle strafe and kill, the chances of pin down are slim and they get the advantage.

Now, the 3 most used tactics by me!

PINNING DOWN TARGETS

Maps with a 'center', or a 'shoot out' area, are great for glock pin downs. Basicly, you give your team backup by sending your 20 cheap ass bullets when a CT jumps across the hallway area like a idiot. Remember, since its recoiless, the chances of missing the target are very slim. just keep on clicking like a madman when you see your target. Target will freeze up, and stop moving, giving you a free kill or some one on your team a free kill. A good ping helps.

Maps with these areas (that i can think of) are cs_siege, cs_docks, de_dust (2 on this map). I know there are more, but thats all I can think of.
hiding far from the center area is good, so the target doesn't actually see you

Its actually more effective then it sounds, probably your best bet for some free cash and a few good kills

THE SNEAK AROUND

Heres what you will need-

1 HE Grenade
1 Vest & Helmet combo
full 90 rounds of glock ammo bought

This is kinda expensive, but the kills + team win (hopefully) makes up for lack of cash. The first thing you do is buy your items as fast as possible I cant stress this enough, you need to hit your targets fast and with out warning. Then, you go around 'the back way'. A place where you know you'll be facing your enemys from behind. cs_docks does this wonderfully if your in the big warehouse, go through the door & up the vent, then back around to the river to CT spawn. CT's and T's should be in a dead lock, and CT's wont like your warm welcome very much.

other maps with this might include cs_seige, cs_estate, de_dust (rush through the main hall way, to your left to bomb site, then through the big doors. gotta be real fast).

Now, when you meet a enemy, and start shooting, hes gonna try to turn around. Unfortunately, even if they're pinned down by fire, they can still turn around on a dime and fire back. So what you want to do is circle him the direction that he is turning. Circle strafe is a *MUST* learn move in counter-strike for any situation.

Now, if you got one kill with out getting more CT's involved- great, go for another. And another if your lucky. I've had 4 kills in a freaking streak before, its all in the fast movement and timing. Remember to reload after every kill. Its a real cheap, inexpensive way to get up on the spots \ get big moneysssss. When they catch on to your little schemes do the following tactic below.

THE RUSH

Same things as before, almost the complete opposite though: You rush into the scene. this is almost suicide, but you didn't spend a shit load on a weapon, so it doesn't matter. Circle strafing is a must in this tactic. And a small game is wanted (maybe 6 on 6, or 5 on 5)

This tactic on cs_militia is fucking fantastic, especially if the CT's decided to take sewage or snipe (snipers are glock bait). Just pin them down, circle strafe maybe. If you have a friend willing enough to go along, you can take out the entire team easily. it sounds outrageous for me to say that, but it has happend. And you didn't spend a dime either. Like I said before, a good ping is always welcome and reload after every kill. Kills usually take up all your bullets from a long range, but up close it usually only takes about 9 or 10 rounds.

Also, with the rush, if your enemys can hide behind things like crates or small corners, check those areas out real quick, then focus real quick in front of you. If some one is crouching they're dead meat. maps like DE_prodigy are notorious for this.

Rush is bad on maps that focus on one building. such as cs_assault, and cs_estate, considering your rushing in on about 6 other ct's at once instead of a spread out 6 ct's.

After about 4 rounds...

...you should have a shitload of money. The killings, and winnings, adds up bigtime. You should have something around 11k, and it goes down slowly even if you bought a AWP every round and died. The glock is a great way to kill, be sneaky bastard, and get cheap, humiliating kills. JOY!!!!

Knife
The knife is a very rarely used weapon in Counter-Strike. Most of the time, knifing is used as a last resort when you either don't have any more ammo or you do not have enough time to reload while an enemy is attacking you. Knifing is also used as a way to run faster in the game. In most cases, the knife can be very powerful depending on where you hit your opponent. If you use your primary stab, the highest damage that can be inflicted is 30%; if you are using the secondary stab, the highest damage that can be inflicted is 80%. Headshots with knives are rare, but they are possible if done correctly and with precision.

Let's start off this guide with one of the attacks on the knife. The primary attack is used as your MOUSE1 click (I am referring to the default buttons.). This attack may not be as powerful as the secondary attack, but it is quicker and more accurate. The initial attack brings around 30% damage to your enemy. Be sure to remember that this is not meant for attacking the head for headshots, it is meant for quick-slicing at the body for a better chance to kill your enemy. This technique is suggested for people who are not as well experienced with the knife.

The secondary attack is used as your MOUSE2 click. The secondary attack is more powerful and is not considered just a stab, it is considered a gash. This powerful blow sends a maximum high damage rate of 80% per attack -- the head can sometimes be even more! Though this attack may bring large amounts of damage, you still need to be wary it is less accurate and is slower when attacking your opponent. You should combine this attack with a side-to-side strafe or a jump movement so you are a more difficult target to hit. You can also try the 'ol hit-and-run technique to have some fun. The secondary attack is suggested for more experienced knifers.

When knifing, technique is always important and should be used. Mentioning some techniques in the last paragraph (the side-to-side strafe, the jump movements, and the hit-and-run) have been proven to work and used by many people in last resort situations. First, let me tell you about the side-to-side strafe. This movement combines better with the primary attack because you move fast with the knife. Strafing side-to-side also provides you with more room to roam and the opponent has a weaker chance of getting you with consecutive blows.

The next technique, the jumping technique, goes well with both the slow gash and the fast stab. When you jump, try to circle around them so they would have to follow you when you jump around them. This will make your enemy less aware of where you are and they are less likely to hit you. When you are jumping, use either attack because you are hitting all parts of their body and getting good damage off of them. Try not to duck, but rather aim for the chest and head to inflict most damage.

The hit-and-run has always been a favorite of mine. If you do not know what this means, it is to hit someone with an attack and then run away. You continue this pattern until you have eliminated your enemy. I suggest using the quick stab attack with this technique because you want to attack your enemy quickly. In order to perform this maneuver correctly, you must quickly strike your opponent and then run away. As he looks around trying to find out where you came from, sneak up and slash him again. Repeat this until he/she is dead.

Say, perhaps, you are playing on a knife map (not sure if there are any good), a good strategy should come into play. When you attack an opponent with a knife, always stay in a group. If you stay in a group, you can attack your enemy from all different sides and he cannot attack all of you at once. This strategy is one of the best I used when attacking an opponent with a knife in a group.

Knives are not only meant for killing. If you like to rush to a certain area, taking out your knife may be better. For example, in de_dust, as a T, if you like to rush to the bridge with an AWP to snipe, taking your rifle out and running may not be good! To save time, take out your knife to run faster and get to the spot before a CT can. You can then easily have enough time to place yourself and your crosshair in the right position for better aiming.

Though knives may not be used often, they prove to be worthy in cases which they become important and mandatory. Knives are also used for fun and to test skill of some people. If you are killed by a knife, commotion erupts; if you kill someone with a knife, you are revered. Knives, I must admit, are not the worst weapons when it comes to last resort cases. Try to master this weapon because it just might one day come in handy if you are stuck with nothing left.
